U. S MEN’S NATIONAL BEACH TEAM CLAIM VICTORY OVER PANAMA

The United States Men’s National Beach team did well enough to defeat their Panamanian rivals in their Beach Soccer fixture recently. The thrilling tie was one that saw both sides score a total number of 7 goals in what was an interesting fixture in the Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship quarterfinals. The USA team were able to come out on top after defeating their rivals 4-3 in the encounter that saw them go through to the semifinals where they will now face Mexico, the same side they came up against back in 2019 of the same tournament.

Whichever team comes out on top between Mexico and the United States will secure a direct ticket and passage to the 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup which will hold in Russia in August later this year. Nicolas Perea, Chris Albiston, and Gabriel Silveira were among the goals as they helped the US see off Panama to secure their semifinal spot in the tournament.

The head coach of the USA team, Francis Farber off decided to make some tweaks to his team as he made two changes to the team that played their first three fixtures. He maintained trust in Chris Toth who retained his spot between the sticks while Jason Santos and Nick Perea also started the game. However, David Mondragon and Gabriel Silveira were both replaced by Alessandro Canale and Nicolas Perea on the first line.

The opening periods of the match did not see any goal scored from any of the two teams involved but Chris Albiston finally broke the deadlock after handing the USA the lead after scoring from the penalty spot just five minutes into the second period. Panama found an equalizer through Rafael Garcia but he could not stop his side from suffering defeat and eventually missing out on a semifinal spot.
