MYRTLE BEACH SEAHAWKS GET FIRST VICTORY OF NEW SEASON

The Myrtle Beach Seahawks got their first win of the new season when they managed to see off West Florence 21-19.

Running back Jermani Green scored a one-yeard touchdown in the second period of the game to give them the edge by two touchdowns.

Following the touchdown, the Seahawks slowed their performance and allowed the visitors roll over them. West Florence stepped up and they almost saw off the game. Hale Emerson and Teyonne Murphy reduced the lead of the hosts to 21-19. They almost ended the beach football event in their favour as Cooper Wallace made a run but the whole Seahawks were insistent on running the regulation time out. CAN ENJOYING SUMMER BEACH FOOTBALL

Liverpool star Emre Can was pictured enjoying his summer playing beach football.

Upon completion of the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia, the Reds star decided to go relax on Venice Beach. Can went on the vacation with three national teammates.

The player had a run-in with beach football as he could not resist it. Ahead of pre-season training with his Liverpool teammates, Can moved to America alongside Man City winger Leroy Sane, Schalke 04 star ThiloKehrer and Roma defender Antonio Rudiger.

The 23-year old was pictured having a swell time in California, having fun and uploading videos online. They had hair-cuts in Los Angeles and even played basketball. He is expected to rejoin his Liverpool teammates later this month ahead of the new season.

Iran impresses in beach football

Iran has been impressive in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas.

The Iranian team finished the competition third after beating Italy 5-3. The players said that they are proud of what they have achieved and that they will be looking to do better in the next competition.

Indeed Iran has amazed a lot of pundits with the level of their play. Their players were physically as well technically superior to a lot of other nations.

The players said that they dedicate this trophy to their country and that they are proud of their performance. They admitted however that it was not easy and that they had to fight really hard in order to win their games.

This is the first time that an Asian team has reached this stage of the completion and Iran should be proud of what they have achieved.

The Iranian players said that they would be looking forward to the next Beach Soccer World Cup. They said that they had paved the way for others to follow and they feel that it is not before long that an Asian team can win this competition. Continue reading “Iran impresses in beach football” →

Brazil and Colombia Claim Impressive Wins in theCopa America de Fútbol

The 2016 Copa America de Fútbol Playa Santos is starting to get pretty intense even after the third match day, as there were several surprises and drama.

Brazil have been one of the favourites in the competition, and they justified this tag by putting in a brilliant performance against Chile in group A. The three more points secured against Chile places them top of the table. It was a difficult start to the game for Brazil since Chile were adopting a heavy approach. The opposition, though, had the quality in the ranks in order to get back and overcome the La Roja.

Uruguay have also taken six points so far and they head into the game against Brazil knowing that it is a must win encounter for the team. Uruguay took on Bolivia in the latest match and they managed to get a head start early. Uruguay overcame their opposition quite quickly, as a result of being very clinical in finishing. The Bahamas are excited

The 2017 edition of the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship is edging nearer and 16 countries are preparing themselves for this upcoming event which is scheduled to initiate on February 20 of 2017.

This is going to be the 2nd time that Bahamas hosts this event and the team captain of the country has recently voiced his excitement in being the hosts once again as Gavin Christie said: “It’s an amazing opportunity to not just play in but host this tournament once again. Ghana qualified for tournament

The Ghana team has successfully qualified for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations by beating Kenya 17-4 on aggregate score.

The match was already won in the first leg when Ghana beat Kenya 10-3. They won the second leg 7-1 to book their place in the tournament.

The Ghana coach said that he is happy with the performance of his players and that they showed determination throughout the game. He admitted that there would be tougher games than this one and it is important that the players prepare themselves well.

He said that Ghana has a good team and that the players need to believe in themselves. He believes that his team has a good chance at the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations and that they need to give their best at the tournament.

The coach said that the players are improving steadily and that they are working hard in training. However, there is still some issues that need to be work on in training and that the will be making the necessary changes to help the team progress. For him, there is no reason why the team cannot compete for trophies and that the players should start to aim for higher things.

Puma has agreed on deals with the Ghana Beach Soccer

Puma has agreed to provide the Ghana Beach Soccer with kits and gears to promote the development of the sport in this part of Africa.

Puma is one of the leaders in sports apparels and will definitely help in improving the level of beach soccer in Ghana.

The deal came after the President of Ghana Beach Soccer Yaw AmpofoAnkrah has presented the project to Puma. The company has sent their own officials to inspect the Ghana beach soccer arena and has then given their backing to the project. The marketing manager of Puma said that they have been impressed by the professionalism displayed by the Ghana Beach Soccer and that they know they will be contributing to a good cause. He hopes that this cooperation will be fruitful and that they can continue for many years to come.

There will be an announcement made in the next weeks to detail what are the terms of the deal and what the Ghana Beach Soccer will be obtaining from Puma. It is believed that teams that will be participating in the Beach Soccer Unity Cup will be the first ones to benefit from the deals and that other teams will follow later on. But we will have to wait for the official announcement to get confirmation.

YOUNG FOOTBALL PLAYERS TRAIN WITH NFL PLAYER IN LONG BEACH

Young football players train with NFL players in Long Beach twice within the last seven days.

A former Long Beach Poly Jackrabbit and current NFL player put up a football camp for the youths in Long beach. Over the weekend, 11-year NFL vet Marcedes Lewis was the one who gathered up youths at his alma mater in order to host his eighth annual one-day camp. Lewis said at the event:

“What good is success if you don’t give back? What’s crazy to me is now we have kids that have been coming for six or seven or eight years, and now I’ve got friends of mine who played Pop Warner with me here bringing their kids out for the camp. It’s like a family reunion with a football.”

The heat was much on Saturday but it didn’t stop over 300 youths who came to the event. Lewis and his team gave instructions on proper form, did lots of exercise, gave out a free camp T-shirt and free lunch to the kids as well.

Former Egypt goalkeeper talks about his role with the Egypt beach soccer team

Former Zamalek and Egypt goalkeeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed has stated that he is not only in the team because of the experience that he has but also to bring media coverage to the beach soccer team.

He said that it is normal for him to help Egyptian football since he has received a lot himself from the football world.

The former Egypt goalkeeper has played for the most of his career with Zamalek and has won 17 titles during this time. He said that when it was time for him to retire he was contacted by Khaled Latif who currently supervises the Egyptian beach soccer team. They were looking for an experienced goalkeeper and also someone that could draw media attention to the team. RiyadMahrez was advised to make a career in beach football

Leicester City’s midfielder RiyadMahrez was recommended by his coach to consider pursuing a career in beach football instead of professional football.

This was because in his early days the Algerian footballer lacked the discipline and determination that is so important to professional players. Instead, he had this nonchalant attitude and creative side that is more prevalent with street footballers and beach players.

During his time at the famous Le Havre academy, his coach tried to inculcate him with this dose of discipline and rigor, but the Algerian footballer simply did not want to listen. He continued to play the way he was used to. Indeed, RiyadMahrez has grown up playing street football, and it was difficult for him to make the change to his style.

His coach was fed up with his attitude and as a result suggested that Mahrez pursues a career in beach football rather than going for the professional route.
